I love hummus. But hummus is traditionally loaded with tahini, a sesame paste…and Mr Fox is allergic to sesame seeds. So we make everything from scratch to make sure there are NO sesame seeds (this is actually incredibly hard in Asian cuisine!). Anywjoe, this is the easy recipe I have used for Hummus since meeting him:
1 can chickpeas, drained (but reserve the brine)
1t ground cumin
1/2t tumeric
1/2t garlic powder (or half a roasted garlic bulb)
1/2t salt
juice of 1 lemon
approx 1/2c olive oil
Place all into a blender -I use the BlitztoGo 600ml bottle- adjusting the amount of reserved brine to add until you reach the consistency you like. Serve with fresh vege sticks, crackers or pit crisps. YUM!
